What?

The Plunge is a mix of time out in the community learning directly about Washington D.C. and its people, formal teaching from leaders in Biblical justice, and time for processing and reflection. We spend times of direct service alongside lots of time learning and listening in the community through neighborhood walks, speaking with local leaders, and guided engagement with residents.

For more of the practical “what” check out our Logistics & Details page.

Who?

We primarily welcome students from InterVarsity fellowships in the Mid-Atlantic region, but can include others with special requests. Usually 15-30 students per week join.

This is a team-oriented program, designed to be experienced both on a personal level and also to help engage where injustice and marginalization may be happening within our InterVarsity campus fellowships as well. Therefore, we highly recommend coming as a team of 3 or more from your fellowship. The greater and more diverse the representation, the more impact you will see on your InterVarsity fellowship culture and community.
